How early do I need to reserve?

Raccoon Lake is a very popular lake, and some of our boats have been known to book out more than two months in advance. The earlier the better is a good rule to follow, particularly if you have an exact date in mind for your trip, or if you're planning a trip over a holiday weekend. We recommend you make reservations for a weekend about 2 weeks in advance. However, with that being said you can call a few days in advance and luck out. Some people have even been lucky enough to walk-in the day of if there is a no show or cancellation.

Do I have to pay the full amount when I book?

No, you will only be charged the $2 non-refundable booking fee at the time of your booking. You do have the option to pay in full when you book.

Can I book online?

Yes, you can access the book now button on the boat rental pages.

The renter needs to be 18 years of age or older with a valid United States drivers license.

Can I fish from the boats?

You can only fish from our fishing boat or pontoon. Fishing is a very popular activity on the lake. Largemouth bass, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, and Striper Bass are all found in abundance. We sell beemoth and nightcrawlers at the boat rental. For more bait you would need to go to the Tiki Hut gas station across the street from the park entrance.

Does someone drive the boat for us?

No, you are in charge of bringing your drivers license, reading up on lake laws, and driving.

Do the boats have radios?

They do have radios but are not guaranteed to work. You will not get any refunds for non-working radios. Please plan accordingly and bring a radio and speakers.
